Workshop:
Climbing the Mountain: How I Learned to Juggle Life as a Father, Husband, Struggling Writer & Managed to Sell a Movie to NBC
Friday, August 7, 2:45 p.m.
Dante Amodeo has had more jobs than he can remember, everything from bartender to ballroom dance instructor, from burger flipper to mental health counselor, and from computer consultant to a stint in the Army working in Electronic Warfare, complete with a Top Secret clearance. He’s used those experiences in his two novels, Saban and The Ancient, and Saban Betrayed. In 2009, he sold his first script, “The Mountain,” which was made into a major TV movie for NBC. Dante still isn’t sure what he wants to do when he grows up, but tries hard to balance his day job, his writing and spending time with his wife and three young daughters. All these experiences make him more rounded, as is obvious by the fact he gets rounder each passing year.
